Everything must come to an end. Even this long, and certainly hot summer. Too bad! Fortunately where there is a ending, there is a beginning of something new as well. Would you like to start this brand new academic year full of action? Do you value human rights? Are you good at coming up with and/or organising actions or fun activities that appeal to students and other youngsters? Become a member of Amnesty Leeuwarden! We sure can use your help to make sure human rights are respected. Always and everywhere around the globe. Human rights are universal rights after all.

There is no Amnesty International student group in Leeuwarden, like there is in Groningen and Amsterdam. But there are students here who volunteer for Amnesty. Together with them and other students you can create, plan and organise your own activities. But you could also help us realise activities we already planned, like our presence at the annual festival on Liberation Day, International Write for Rights day (10 December) and International Women’s Day.

We could also use some help with keeping our social media (inter)active and with promoting our goals and activities. This year there is a special campaign we would like to promote: the Human Rights Dialogues. Do you like to change ideas with people from various backgrounds about subjects related to human rights, like refugees, discrimination and online privacy? This might be a campaign that interests you.
